Welcome to The Manufactory Baking Division.
The Home of The Appleby Dundee Cake and other speciality teatime treats.

We have developed what we consider to be the very epitome of what a speciality fruit cake should be, namely, the world famous, “Appleby Dundee Cake”, accompanied by its equally illustrious and sumptuous Easter Simnel Cake. As recent recipients will be happy to testify, they set new Epicurean standards, a taste of true gourmet approved excellence.
The cakes are made individually and with meticulous care and attention to traditional family recipes here in the kitchen of our beautiful three hundred year old cottage in Appleby, rural Lincolnshire.
They are rich, moist and fruity with a truly amazing, traditional old fashioned flavour that develops wonderfully as the cake matures. Containing as they do only the finest of ingredients: Butter, sugar, flour, sultanas, raisins, currants, ground almonds, cherries, mixed peel, eggs laid by our own hens, lemons, secret spices, whole almonds and sherry (or whatever comes to paw!), and more than a little touch of extra special Piggy magic!
The Appleby Dundee cakes are made in three sizes, Piglet Size, Piggy Size and Greedy Piggy Size!
Our Speciality Easter Simnel Cake comes in Piglet and Piggy size.
Our cakes make welcome gifts for our family and friends as well as useful fund raisers for local charities!
