What better way to celebrate that special Birthday than with some wonderful Piggy Birthday cakes?

Our cakes represent Mavis, Mabel and Fairy but the design could easily be adapted for your own piggy.

We used a couple of large Victoria sponge cakes made the day before the Grand Decoration Ceremony. The cakes were cut and layered to resemble a nice round piggy shape. To hold the layers together, and for extra scruminess, we used lots of raspberry jam and butter cream. A luscious layer of home made marzipan provided a base for the Mavis and Mabel style ‘orange fur’ icing. The addition of a white mask, shoulder fur and some black eyes completed the Mavis cake. Mabel simply had some ‘curly fur’ icing applied to her rear end imitative of her beautiful Texel fur as well as some lovely round black eyes. Fairy sports a beautiful tiara and has a wand to magic some fairy dust on the Birthday Boy or Girl.

The addition of some suitable fruit and veg (tomatoes, sweetcorn, apple slices, cucumber slices and a carrot) completed the scene.

Friends commented it was hard to tell which were the cakes and which were the real Piggies!
