The members of The Manufactory were overjoyed to receive into their fold a newcomer - Wilma ‘Woolly’ Mittens, on December 6th 2002. A wonderful little 5 week old Texel baby girl, very orange, very crinkly and looking quite unlike any other baby Guinea Pig they had ever seen before! After much fervent debate she became the responsibility of Winnie Mittens, who promptly embarked on an intensive Manufactory Piggyonomy induction course. Winnie was renowned for her wonderfully good nature and endless patience. It is obvious that her influence has made a strong and lasting impression. Wilma is a kind, sensitive and a very loving Piggy indeed!
After just a week of nursery accommodation in the kitchen, Wilma set forth, with a jolly hop and a skip, to the sitting room and discovered the joys of snoozing by the radiator behind the settee. Like many new little Guinea Pigs, she is also fond of indulging in bouts of rapid zooming and popping. Any thoughts Mavis may have had about possible pursuit were swiftly replaced by utter bewilderment!
She has also encountered the dubious pleasures of being bathed and shampooed in the sink. No complaints there . . . and even the hair drier was a warm hit! Not so sure there was any need for the curling tongs though! She can often be seen adorned with hair ribbons.
Wilma is also something of an expert down on the Manufactory Salad Farm, and has acquired an abiding passion for cherry tomatoes and cucumber. She always eats very daintily - unlike Mavis!
Being exceptionally frizzy, she has proved quite a challenge to photograph. But she does have the most twinkly eyes and the squidgiest of little noses.

Wilma (Woolly) Mittens - The Manufactory’s first Texel!
The little fluffy bundle of Texel joy, was born on November 4 2002,
and joined the Manufactory family just in time for Christmas!
